New Find of Minty Green to an almost Chrome Green Emerald/Beryl from Chithral, Pakistan! From our understanding there was a very limited amount of this produced and we don't know if there is any more available. This is NOT Chromium Colored. This material is referred to as Emerald in Pakistan and that is what it was sold to us as; however, we would call it Green Beryl due to the depth of color in the rough. The lot overall is a steal at our price and that is due to the great price we got on it as a sample. We would say that roughly 80% of this lot is facet grade.

This is the only parcel of this material we have and it was purchased as a sample. It was discounted due to its sample status and we are selling it likewise. We have seen some of the cleaner stones in this lot sell for $10.00+ per carat and I don't think there is any way you can go wrong picking this up. This is another lot that would be a great Ebay money maker for those interested in reselling this broken up.

1. Emerald is mined in western Pakistan in the Swat area and in the Panjsher Valley in Afghanistan. Afghan material is generally lighter, cleaner and considerably more lustrous while Swat material tends to be more included but of better color. Both localities produce material that is similar to Columbian in color with that notable blue overtone. Chithral is a new source of of this material and is only beginning to engage in mineral exploration. We are hopeful of some new discoveries from the region in the near future.

2. Afghanistan is known to produce Emerald Nodules and these are as fabled as the old Kashmir Sapphires!
