DESCRIPTION:

Awesome NEW FIND of a Pastel Yellow Apatite from Badakshan, Afghanistan. This is really unusual looking material in a weird shade of Yellow. The lot as a whole is comprised of mostly terminated Crystals and crystal sections and is running roughly 60%+ mixed Facet Grade. We have never seen this material before and don't really anticipate on seeing more as this was probably a single pocket discovery from what we have heard. There are some stones in here that look like they will cut eye-clean or better with relative ease; however, most stones will cut in the very slightly to slightly included range at best. The material is in fairly chunky pieces and should support high weight returns due to the crystal structure of the rough if cut. Any way you look at it this material is a steal at our current price and it is worth picking up to add to the collection.

COOL FACTS:
  1. Badakshan has been an extremely hot region in Northern Afghanistan as of late with all sorts of new finds coming out every few weeks. Badakshan has been on the map as a gem source since its Lapis and Spinel spread across the world hundreds of years ago but has taken on renewed interest over the last decade because of new finds coming from the region including Uvite Tourmaline & Chondrodite.
