DESCRIPTION: |
Awesome lot of very unusual Bluish Green to Windex Blue "Afghanite" Rough from Afghanistan. This was sold to us as Afghanite and some of it clearly is Afghanite; however, the material overall is very unusual for Afghanite and is being sold untested. Much of the material has a very distinct texture compared to typical Afghanite and the color on some of the material looks very translucent yet not overly fractured. In addition, there is a very unusual Greenish mixture in much of the rough. This is the only lot of this we have and it is being sold strictly as Cabbing Rough and should be purchased as such. Several clients have requested this from us in the past; however, availability is very sporadic. The material overall in our opinion is cabbing grade; however, there are a few stones in the parcel that are a bit translucent and we have seen far more included stones faceted selling for an arm and a leg. Please note that a few of the stones in here do have Lazurite inclusions for those that like Inclusion Oddities. We have rarely seen this material clean in either faceted stones or cabs and inclusions are to be expected. This is a highly sought after stone and we are confident it will leave the knowledgeable connoisseur thoroughly pleased. |
