The PREMIER brand for Gemological Instruments. This is the latest microscope base utilized by GIA and was designed by Howard Pomerantz. Howard was nice enough to AUTOGRAPH this base for us when we purchased it earlier in the week through him. Please note that we also have an UNAUTOGRAPHED base available.

This base is practically NEW and comes with a Power Cord AND the Overhead Light seen in the pictures above. We were informed that it was NOT used; however, it was removed from its box which was discarded before we acquired it. We have tested it and everything is in complete WORKING order. We were informed the base sells for approximately $3,000 NEW but have not confirmed this.

Purchasing a base WITHOUT  a Pod or Head allows you to CHOOSE which optics to purchase instead of having to purchase a complete scope with optics having already been chosen for you. You can choose your brand and specs according to YOUR needs. Heads range in price from a few hundred dollars up and can easily be purchased through many microscope dealers either new or used. I do believe the heads currently sold with these bases through GIA run about $1,500 new but please do your own research.
