Awesome NEW discovery of Cherry to Orangey Red Almandine Spessartite Garnet coming from Kunar, Afghanistan. You can review the write up on this material in GIA's Gems & Gemology HERE! This is a nice lot of mostly Cherry Red Garnet Cabochons! Overall the material does look very clean; however, the largest stone is dark and opaque for the most part (largely due to its size). The rest of the stones are nice and bright. Please note that it is VERY VERY difficult to get this material and there is only a VERY limited amount produced annually with high grade rough amounting to a few kilos at most but usually well under 1 kilo. These are very well cut cabs with excellent polish overall and we are confident that you will not find this deal elsewhere.
